EIE President Donna Rice Hughes will be on Tru-TV's "In-Session" Live at 11:30am EST tomorrow, July 29, talking about the murder case against 16-year old Daniel Kovarbasich
Opening statements began this week in the murder trial against 16-year-old Daniel Kovarbasich. Earlier this year, police were shocked to find former city worker, 55-year-old Duane Hurley, sprawled on his stomach, with a bashed head and multiple stab wounds; police have suggested that Hurley bled to death before his killer stopped attacking him. What could ever have caused a teen to commit such a violent act? Kovarbasich's defense is suggesting that Hurley was trying to rape him. When Kovarbasich was only 12, Hurley began grooming him and manipulating him into eventually having a sexual relationship with him. When Kovarbasich was 15, Hurley began a gradual progression from fondling to oral sex until finally penetrating the boy. Tragically, as is often the case, Hurley was embraced by Kovarbasich's family and considered by them to be a "grandfather figure" in the young boy's life.
Tomorrow, Enough Is Enough® President Donna Rice Hughes will talk with "In Session" about child sexual abuse, Internet Safety 101® prevention techniques, the "grooming" process and the tragic circumstances of this graphic case.
Tune in at 11:30am EST tomorrow, July 29, 2010 to TruTV's "In Session", to watch live.
