Alma Jane Shepard, CFRE is a highly effective fundraising executive with an extensive track record of successes involving major gifts, planned giving, strategic planning, annual giving campaigns, grant submissions, fundraising team leadership, and board stewardship. Currently President of Shepard and Associates, a fundraising consulting firm located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
With more than 25 years of fundraising expertise, Alma Jane brings her experience and insight to nonprofit organizations to help them meet and exceed their financial objectives. She brings a depth of current knowledge including hands-on fundraising and coaching in the following areas:
Corporate & Foundation Giving, Capital Campaign Management, Donor Research and Solicitation
and Motivating Teams and Leadership.
Alma Jane's accomplishments includes holding top level development positions as Vice President of Development, World Food Program USA, American Rivers, Senior Vice President, Institutional Advancement for the National World War II Museum, Manager of Major Gifts for the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, Financial Director for the Elizabeth Dole for President Committee, and National Director of Advancement and Campaign Development for Prison Fellowship Ministries.
With a BA in Political Science from Taylor University, Alma Jane is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 1993. She is a member of the National Association of Female Executives, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). She continues her professional development training including learning with AFP, People-to-People Fundraising Delegation to China, Team Resources, Wired Women, and Frontline Leadership.
Alma Jane has received numerous awards and recognition for her achievements, including Silver and Bronze Telly Awards as Executive Producer of three WW II campaign videos, top honor at 19th annual Teddy Awards for campaign displays, and Cambridge Who's Who 2008 Professional of the Year in Philanthropy and Education.
